Achieve Perfect Silk Pressed Hair with Kuza Products

Embrace the Elegance of Straight & Silk Pressed Styles with Kuza®

Step 1

Penetrate

Detangle hair with a penetrating oil. Part into 2 to 4 sections and detangle with a wide-toothed comb from ends to root. Start gently at the ends and add penetrating oil to help with detangling. Few oils penetrate the hair follicle well (coconut, babassu, avocado, olive, etc.). Cleanse, hydrate and moisturize hair with Kuza® Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo and Conditioner infused with coconut oil.

Step 2

Moisturize & Protect/Seal (PMP/S Method)

On freshly washed and moisturized hair, when half dry, part hair into sections (one at a time). Put Kuza® Jamaican Black Castor Oil or Kuza® 100% Pure African Shea Butter into the palm of your hand and rub gently; then dab throughout hair to seal in moisture and on the ends lightly, to protect from breakage and heat. Be careful with heat; protect at night with minimal heat use. This styling allows for trims and less manipulation when done with care. Note, these Kuza® products are great to moisturize your skin, too, to glow all over!

Ensure hair is completely dry by air drying and then using blow dryer or dry completely with blow dryer before styling. If not completely dry, the style will not hold. Great style for curly, coily and wavy hair textures.

Step 3

Style and Cover When Sleeping

Use sections to flat iron from the back of your head to the front. Test the temperature, and use a flat iron based on what is needed to get a nice silk press. Typical temperature used is between 350° and 415°. Wrap hair (around your head) after finishing and give it time to mold to a straight style.Consider wrapping when possible to train hair. Use Kuza® Jamaican Black Castor Oil Anti-Breakage Edge Gel to lay down edges and hair minimally where needed. Cover hair with a silk or satin scarf to protect when sleeping.

Curly or Wavy: Use dime-size amounts where most dry to not weigh hair down.

Coily and/or Tight Textured, Thick: Use a quarter-size amount, up to a dollop, to cover areas of hair where product is used for styling, but only use minimal product needed. for styling.
